@baba.victor0: Replying to @🌊YemayasBaby🌊 when a godchild leaves and they want to come back. There are things that have to be done but there’s no guarantee those Orisha and Elder will be there waiting for you. #santeriaforbeginners #ifaforbeginners #orishalifestyle #lukumi #babavictor

My padrino tells all of us “Just because the Santos accepted you the first time does not necessarily mean they will accept you again if you decide to return. That is something the Orishas themselves will have to discuss and determine. When the time comes, they will communicate their decision, and I will let you know. I do not judge you for the decisions you make, and neither do the Orishas. You have your own path to walk, and ultimately, the decision is yours. This is exactly why we have these meetings that last several hours. We take the time to sit with you, explain everything in detail, answer your questions, and make sure you fully understand the spiritual significance of your decision. We are not here to pressure you, frighten you, or force you to stay. We are here to guide you so that whatever decision you make, you make it with a clear mind, a peaceful heart, and a full understanding of what it means. The Orishas do not want you to make decisions out of fear, guilt, or confusion. They want you to understand your path and be certain that you are doing what is best for yourself. Remember, being accepted once is a blessing, but it should never be taken for granted that the same opportunity will be given again.”

Baba so the process one needs to follow after leaving & coming back all depends on what the Orisha tells them specifically in their consultation? What they ask for 1 person to come back will definitely be different from someone else right? Only thing that all those who return have in common is if the elder is willing to take them back is to take them to get a consultation? 🤔

My padrino always tells us: “This religion is not a game. We do not play games with the Orishas. As the saying goes, ‘Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Y si vas a jugar, aguanta vara.’ Never forget that you are not above the Orishas. You are not greater than them, and you do not get to place yourself above their wisdom. They are your guides, your protectors, your spiritual mothers and fathers. They represent love, strength, discipline, wisdom, and protection. They do not ask you to be perfect. They ask you to have good morals, develop good character (Iwá Pelé), walk with humility, practice empathy, respect others, and live with integrity. You know the difference between right and wrong. You know when your intentions are pure and when your actions are questionable. You have been given the ability to make your own decisions, but understand that every decision carries consequences. If you choose to learn through wisdom, you will grow through wisdom. But if you insist on learning the hard way, then life will teach you lessons that guidance could have helped you avoid. And when those lessons come, do not complain about the consequences of choices you knowingly made. My responsibility as your padrino is not to control your life or make decisions for you. My responsibility is to guide you, advise you, pray for your health, seek your protection, and perform the spiritual work entrusted to me to help keep Ikú, death, away from your path. I cannot force you to listen. I cannot force you to have faith, respect the Orishas, or walk the right path. That decision belongs to you. But never confuse the love and protection of the Orishas with permission to act without responsibility. Be grateful for the spiritual path you have been allowed to walk. Not everyone is called to this religion, and not everyone is received into its traditions. Being chosen does not make you better than anyone else. It gives you a greater responsibility to remain humble, grateful, disciplined, and respectful. Remember, the Orishas are not here to feed your ego. They are here to guide your spirit. Walk with humility, speak with respect, act with good character, and never forget where you

When we have our religious gatherings and this topic comes up, my padrino always reminds us of something very important: “In this religion, we look after one another. The Orishas watch over us, protect us, guide us, and stand beside us through battles we cannot even see. But just as they watch over us, we have a responsibility to honor, care for, and remain committed to them. We sleep, but the Orishas do not. While we rest peacefully at night, they continue watching over us. They have endured countless spiritual attacks, aggressions, and battles on our behalf, many of which we will never witness or fully understand. They have carried burdens that were never ours to see. And what do they ask of us in return? Respect, faith, commitment, good character, humility, and devotion. Understand something: Being part of this religion is not a game. It requires sacrifice, discipline, responsibility, and hard work. I opened the doors of my home to you. I opened my sacred altar to you. I welcomed you as my religious children and gave you a place to bring your precious Orishas, your consecrated artifacts, and everything sacred that has been entrusted to your care. But do not mistake my kindness for weakness. Do not walk into my home, stand before my altar, and believe that you are above the Orishas. Absolutely not. In my house, the Orishas come first. You will honor them. You will respect them. You will acknowledge the protection, guidance, and blessings they have given you, even during the moments when you did not realize they were working on your behalf. We may come from different religious houses. Our padrinos and madrinas may have different rules, traditions, and ways of teaching. But the sacred foundation remains the same: respect for the Orishas, respect for our elders, respect for one another, and responsibility for our spiritual commitments. Your responsibility as religious brothers and sisters is to protect one another, encourage one another, and help one another grow spiritually. Your responsibility is not to spread confusion, disrespect, or indiscipline among those who are trying to remain faithful to their spiritual path. If one day you decide that th
