Here's how we make a box using the Box Joint Jig. It's so SIMPLE, anyone can do it! 1. Mark the top edge of all 4 pieces on both sides (Front, Back, Right & Left) 2. Mark the front, back, left and right. 3. Set up your box joint jig (video on our website) 4. Take your Front piece and butt the marked top edge against your key. Your top edge marking should point toward the key. Make your first cut. 5. Move the Front Piece over so your key is positioned inside of your new cut. Cut again. Repeat this until one side is complete. 6. Flip your Front Piece over and repeat Steps 4 & 5. 7. Take your Back Piece and repeat steps 4, 5 & 6. Note that your front and back pieces will be identical. 8. Next, take your Back Piece and slide the first gap closest to your top edge onto the key. Your top edge marking should now point away from your key. Take one of your sides and butt it's top edge against your back piece. Your top edge arrows should point towards each other. Make your first cut. 9. Remove your Back Piece, but the side against the key and make your second cut. Then finish cutting the rest of that side. 10. Flip over your side piece and repeat Step 9. Do this for the other unfinished side as well. 11. When both sides are done, they will be identical. You can now assemble your box. As long as your top edge all faces upward when assembling, all pieces can be assembled. Because of the mirror effect of your Front/Back and Left/Right, you can flip any piece 180° horizontally and it will still fit. This way, you can select any grain to be on the outside of your box. #woodworking #boxmaking #jessem #joinery #tools #howto #tipsandtricks
