Bit of a wierd idea, but could you remove the snails and microwave the soil in batches to kill any eggs in it without the faff?

please wet your hands before handling the snails! just wash your hands throughly dry them and then spritz them with plain water or you can damage their very delicate foot or mantle tissues and can cause lots of friction which is super uncomfortable for the snail
