@the_goodfilms: Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride (2005) is one of the most beautiful stop-motion animated films ever made. The amount of work behind this film is incredible. Every character was brought to life using handmade puppets, miniature sets, and frame-by-frame photography. The animators even used tiny mechanical gears inside the puppets’ heads to control their facial expressions. One of my favorite details is how the world of the living is cold, gray, and gloomy, while the world of the dead is surprisingly colorful and full of life. With Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter’s voice performances, Danny Elfman’s wonderful music, and Emily’s heartbreaking story, Corpse Bride is a film that deserves to be revisited every Halloween. And even after 21 years, the animation still looks incredible.
