@userk5tp4hgqmd: *The Big Southern Avoca Males* A coalition of two brothers, born in early 2013, sons of the legendary Old Avoca. In 2016 they split from their other brothers and settled in southern Sabi Sand. Over time they managed to take over the Southern Pride and the Sand River Pride, with their peak in 2019 when they repelled an attack from four young Ndzhenga males. In 2017 they made big news after one of them killed the famous male leopard Piva and the female leopard Xidulu. In 2023 the pressure from the Nkuhlu and Gijima males started to grow, so they tried to expand north towards the Hamilton Pride. That's where they had a direct clash with the dominant coalition there, the Leeubron males. The fight ended with the death of the bigger Southern male, and two days later his body was found in the swamp. After that, the second Southern male was left alone living a hard nomadic life, until he met another solitary male, the Kruger Male known as Qarqar. The new coalition started in October 2024 north of the Sand River, and the last confirmed sighting of them was in December 2024 in Sabi Sabi, both in good health and heading south to look for a quieter area away from the pressure of the younger coalitions. After December 2024, there have been no further official sightings.
