I have the same fear. I think the hardest part isn’t really the possibility that I might never find the love of my life. It’s the fear that I might have to live without the life I pictured for myself and the possibility of never having them can feel almost like grief for something that hasn’t even happened yet. The one thing I hold onto is that not getting everything I hoped for does not mean I didn’t deserve it. I think the most important thing is to try and not grieve my future before I’ve lived it, because I am not at the end of my story. I am in a chapter where I am becoming much less willing to abandon myself just to keep someone else. I stopped asking, “What if nobody ever chooses me?” I have started saying instead “What kind of life would I build if I stopped waiting for someone else to complete it?” And if love comes, I will meet it as a whole person. And if it takes longer than I hoped, my life is still happening in the meantime because I haven’t missed the ending…I’m still writing it 🙏

I think we all spend so much of our lives hoping for the things we dream of, wondering what it means if they never happen. Maybe the real beauty is learning that life can still be meaningful, beautiful and full of joy, even when it looks different from what we imagined. We can keep hoping for the love and happiness we deserve without making our entire purpose depend on finding them. ❤️

in order to find those things I have to be an active participant in my own life, but I have actual problems that prevent me from doing that and no one believes me. everyone thinks that I'm exaggerating for making excuses, but I'm genuinely trapped in my own head

We don’t all find love in life . I’m so thankful to be able to have loved a few times. I’m 45 my last relationship might of been my last one . I may never hit that pinnacle of life again, definitely hard to imagine that but could also be my reality that I never find love again as well .

This cuts deep👌.... but What if we simply chose to be happy and let everything we long to have and become find its way to us along the journey, when our hearts are already full... I guess then, all those things would simply be a beautiful bonus to the happiness we already have. ❤️✨
