3:13:31. A 32-minute PB, but 23 minutes short of the goal I came here chasing. Today was tough. Really tough. From the start, I could tell something wasn’t right. The pace I’d trained so hard for felt way harder than it should have. It felt incredibly hot out there, and by 10 km, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to hold my goal pace. So I backed off, adjusted my expectations, and focused on getting to that finish line. I’m not going to make excuses. I put everything I had into this training block, and today just wasn’t my day. I shared my sub-2:50 goal publicly, and I’m glad I did. I think there’s something important about putting your goals out there, even when there’s a chance you might fall short. Not every goal is going to work out, no matter how hard you work for it. And while I’m disappointed, I also don’t want to overlook the fact that I just ran a 32-minute personal best. That’s something I’m incredibly proud of. Going to take a little break from running, let the body recover, and enjoy some time away from chasing splits. But I know I’ll be back, and I’ll be coming back stronger. Thank you to everyone who followed along, sent messages, and supported me throughout this journey. It means more than you know. And a massive shoutout to Scott. Neither of us got the race we were hoping for today, but I couldn’t have asked for a better person to share this training block with. Thanks for pushing me every step of the way, brother. Chicago, you were one hell of an experience. ❤️ The goal hasn’t changed. Just the timeline. 🏃‍♂️
