I wanted to do something nice for myself today because today I am sober 6 years! I wanted to get myself a new shirt, or a pair of winter boots. I haven’t bought anything nice for myself in over a year. I decided I couldn’t risk the purchase. I then said to myself, I’ll get a candle. I then decided that wasn’t a good idea either. Finally, I thought I would stop and get myself a protein smoothie from Pressed Cafe. I then realized that would be more than a candle. So- my recession indicator is that I didn’t celebrate myself today. No one else celebrated me. So here I am scrolling tik tok. That’s my recession indicator. It’s almost not worth being sober and trying so hard because what does it matter.
