being threatened to be put in foster care and never seeing your family again DID cause damage to the children

No one will ever convince me judicial immunity or qualified immunity is a good and necessary thing.

the judge should be disbarred. although 300K in attorneys fees is a bit much

As a kid who was told he’d go into a foster home if he refused to spend time with one of his parents, sad to see that this is apparently a common threat.

The emotional damage to those children is way more than $5000 that is insane. That judge was out of line.

What shocks me is the $300k for a three day trial. Your level of justice depends on how much you have. That is fucking criminal.

This system is so broken , so the attorneys get $300,000. but the kids who were the ones that mentally suffered only get $5,000. each right , right , okay.

Judge abused his authority. He should have paid 10x—not about how long the children were held, it was about the judge’s conduct and his abuse of his office.

No damages? What about the trauma that those kids undoubtedly have experienced? That judge should be removed from the bench.

The judge should have understood there's a reason why the kids did not want to go to their mothers.
it should always be up to the kids rather than want to live with the mom or the dad. I picked my dad myself because the judge let me because my mom tried to kill me when I was 12 she ended up going to prison she's got 38 more years to go

People like this shouldn't be a judge PERIOD

This should be double because what adults would be traumatizing to a child and what really is are two different things. I'm not saying it should be millions, but at minimum $10,000 per child.

$5000 apiece that’s it and the attorney gets 300,000

As someone who was threatened to be taken away from my parents as a kid (by my teachers, because I wouldn't agree that I was disabled,) things like this stay with you for the rest of your life.

Only because they agreed to go with mother why “damages “ were so low”

Hold on a second. You just said that the children’s continued refusal would have resulted in the father being found in contempt. Explain how that is legal at all!?
