@nofingerprints_truecrime: CASE 118 • THE DISAPPEARANCE OF HEATHER ELVIS • SOUTH CAROLINA • 2013 On December 18, 2013, 20-year-old Heather Elvis vanished near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, after receiving a late-night phone call from a married man with whom she had previously been involved. Heather had been trying to move on with her life after ending her relationship with Sidney Moorer. But when Sidney’s wife, Tammy Moorer, discovered their affair, Heather became the target of repeated harassment. In the early morning hours of December 18, Sidney contacted Heather from a gas station payphone. According to Heather’s roommate, Heather believed Sidney was leaving his wife and wanted to reconcile. Hours later, Heather disappeared. Her abandoned car was discovered at Peachtree Landing, a secluded boat launch along the Waccamaw River. Her phone and personal belongings were missing. Investigators uncovered phone records, surveillance footage of a pickup truck near the landing, and inconsistencies in Sidney’s statements. Prosecutors argued that Sidney and Tammy had lured Heather to the landing and kidnapped her. In 2018, Tammy Moorer was convicted of kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap. In 2019, Sidney Moorer was convicted of the same offenses. Both received 30-year prison sentences. Although both initially faced murder charges, those charges were dropped. Neither has been convicted of Heather’s murder. More than 12 years later, Heather Elvis remains missing. Her family continues waiting for answers about what happened that December morning. Two people were convicted of kidnapping her, but her whereabouts remain unknown. Where is Heather Elvis? And will her family ever receive the answers they deserve? If you have credible information about Heather’s disappearance, please contact the Horry County Police Department. Somewhere out there… someone knows the truth.
