And movies. I really struggle to watch movies anymore because everything seems like propaganda. Like we have a lot of the same stories retold in different ways. Like Dante’s inferno, odyssey’s journey, which is fun I love that. I mean it’s interesting at least. However, the way they package specific political ideologies into stories our brains are already hardwired to accept (ie “the hero’s journey”) are deeply embedded in cultural archetypes and ultimately serve as propaganda and its depressing because I’m jaded. I can’t just watch the flashing pictures and enjoy it I’m tearing it down mentally. Learning what “ignorance is bliss” REALLy means in the past 5 years or so.
