even if im wrong, i hate when people make everything a personal attack. like no, me thinking you may be upset bc you breathed pretty heavy doesn't mean you cant take a deep breath. i was just checking in, not telling you to stop fuckin breathing😒

I agree with you on that if a woman overthinks something that I'm with I would not get mad because if you're overthinking and I would just say it in a comment you're overthinking this sweetie but now I wouldn't get mad in fact it's really hard to make me mad

I’ll say this , I don’t agree with automatically making your partner feel wrong for wanting reassurance but I don’t think it’s wrong to respectfully ask why you need reassurance

Yep! As soon as they try to flip it on you or deflect you KNOW you’re right. And they will never admit it. Just accept they did it and move on. Thats all you can do.

Well it depends on the context. If you overthink something every now and then and he gets mad he’s probably guilty! But if you’re an extreme overthinker and require reassurance for every little thing I can see how the frustration could boil over eventually until he got mad and snaps. It’s like calling wolf too many times, eventually he quits caring about your feelings of needing that reassurance.

reassurance is a nuanced topic. it’s not black and white like many people want it to be. if youre seeking reassurance constantly (multiple times a day) due to feelings that derive from something completely innocuous or an internal conflict you’re experiencing that has nothing to do with the other person, there’s obviously going to be some frustration. also, there’s something called a reassurance loop, where if you’re not regulating your own emotions and constantly seeking regulation outside of yourself, reassurance won’t actually help anything.

literally how we broke up a couple weeks ago. all I needed was reassurance or being spoken to calmly while I shared something that was bothering me. smh
