Girl, make sure you clip their wing because I didn’t do that. Flew over to my neighbors yard and got bit by a dog. Luckily, she survived. Just so they don’t fly over your fence. 🤍

Put CDs upside down around outside and the reflection helps keep hawks away. They can’t see when they look down!

Maybe you should put the rooster inside the big cage while the ladies are out instead of the kennel.

Get the automatic door for the run door. That way if you cant get there they come out on their own, and they will put themselves back in on their own and you set it to close.

you should get a Pyrenees to protect the property but they need training. if you are committed to chickens and small animals get protection and get a trainer.

Invest in a automatic door, you can set times for it to open and close. Also when the sun starts setting the chickens know where home is and they will all find their way back to the coop. Putting a automatic door on it allows them to make their way back in and close from predators in the night in case you forget or have plans

If that roosting bar stays outside the coop, you may run into the issue of them going there to roost in the evening instead of putting themselves up for the evening. You’ll have to pick each of them up and put them in and that gets old lol. I speak from experience.

Make friends with your crows! I know it sounds crazy but if you feed your crows and leave them little trinkets they will protect your flock. I have 5 that push hawks out all the time

Let Gaga free, he’s the protector, he will keep them safe while free ranging. I promise he will die to protect them.

We let ours free range for a few days for a few hours. Something ate all 8 of them within an hour of me opening their coop one day. 1 was a huge duck! 😭

You can get a power door for their coop and it opens at dawn and closes just past dusk. Chickens will put themselves to bed at dusk. This way if you can’t get over there to close them in they will be safe in the coop/boxes
