i’m 30 now, but this happened when i was 26. my friends and i (we are all the same age) were at a county fair and walking back to our cars. some kids (maybe around 10 years old) ran past us and one of the boys said “watch out for the adults!” bc they almost ran into us. the adults?????? so that means 10 y/os could tell we were not high schoolers.

About 39-40. Had been at my job for 18 years. Training new people. New guy came in. Conversation went to age/school / graduation, etc. the dude i was training was just barely born when I started my job…. Totally different generational personality… it was a gut punch…

People stopped saying it to my husband. He's 42. He's been really sick though and lost a lot of weight. I think once we get him healthy again and he can gain some back he'll feel better about how he looks again. I still just see the most handsome man on earth that I was lucky enough to marry. 🥰

I live in Ireland and am from the US. for the first decade or so of living here, I was asked "are you here studying?" by almost every stranger making small talk. then my 30s hit and suddenly it turned into "are you here for work?" 😂😂 subtle but effective
