It’s okay for grandma that Jinshi is crazy for maomao…(she was very happy with the money and favors) but I think during the feed the locust scene, grandma got worried that Maomao is falling for Jinshi, seeing another fengxian that’s why she asked chou-u to asked for maomao’s type. 😭 I read the LN but my memory highlighted only joka’s speech, not grandma’s worry.

This is Joka warning Maomao to be careful in regards to Jinshi, & powerful men in general. Joka is much more jaded than the other two princesses, & honestly, rightfully so. Joka saw what happened with Fengxian & Lakan (even if we know what actually happened), & we are shown in s1 that many noble men lie about their intentions with the courtesans. And she reaffirms that Maomao’s status as a disgraced courtesan’s daughter places her in a precarious position (yeah, we know that Lakan would never allow that & that Jinshi would never DO that, but Joka has no reason to believe that). Joka DOES seem the most like both Fengxian & Maomao, as well.
