I WALKED to the US with my mom when I was 4. All we had were the clothes on our back. She’s a business owner now, and I work at a start up & live in a downtown high rise. Si se puede!!!

I’m an immigrant physician for mostly Latino families and the biggest privilege of my life is cheering on so many of my patients to graduate from high school and go on to colleges and trade schools on full scholarships. Their parents literally started with absolutely nothing. So many of them are going into healthcare, and I hope that I’m a small part of that story. 🥰

I would stay late nights at my College to study and do homework. Even though I was a commuter and lived 5 minutes away, I liked studying in the classroom. I was by myself and the janitor would always check up on me to see if I was okay and kept telling me “Sigue adelante”, “tu puedes”. And it would always touch my heart because literally I would see my parents saying that too. I felt like I was taken care of and made sure I was safe.

Hell yeah, in fact I was brought undocumented at only 7 years old. I fought until I got both a Bachelor and Master degree. For a while I did landscaping but now Im a Systems Administrator.
