@reuters: Across Sudan, farmers who have struggled to harvest their crops since a civil war flared in 2023 are now battling a new enemy that could plunge the nation back into famine: the weather. #weather #climate #elnino #climatechange #agriculture

xxfletchxx :

this has been happening since we began farming thousands of years ago. weather conditions change and populations relocate.

Sumathi Chanderasekaran :

See la, they have land to grow crops which can make money,, feed people but can’t… y.. proper funding or investment don’t go to proper places to build the agricultural sectors worldwide so definitely world will have shortages of food.. instead of send them some preservative biscuits to cope for a famine.. investors can come to to invest, there will be work and salary for locals so aids or funds needed, leave enough harvest locally and export the rest.. such harvest is also going to be cheaper than what are importing right now.. control the pesticide and grow clean harvest, heal the coming generations from gmo and other harmful chemicals.. life is simple but people run behind bitcoin, Ai and etc. 👌

Blackout :

People in the comments would rather ignore climate change and consequences of human ignorance than confront it

SECZ :

God dang it. If only we didn’t take all their cobalt

user0123456789 :

sure but Africa will always be relatively dry and have relatively poor soil, those are just geographic features (obviously I mean outside of the rainforests/volcanic earth/river deltas)
