On April 26, 2025, I finally found freedom from active addiction. But what most people don't know is that my first attempt at finding that freedom was back in 2010. Fifteen years. Fifteen years of trying, failing, getting back up, falling apart, making promises, breaking those promises, and wondering if I would ever escape something that was slowly destroying everything around me, including myself. There were periods of sobriety. Moments when I thought I had finally figured it out. But somehow, I always found my way back to the very thing that was killing me. And I don't share that to brag, boast, or glorify the darkness I survived. I share it because somebody needs to know that just because you haven't found freedom yet doesn't mean freedom isn't possible. I'm not the exception to the rule. I'm living proof that your past doesn't have to become your permanent reality. And here's something else I've come to understand. After spending fifteen years fighting to get my life back, do you really think I'm going to settle for mediocrity now? Do you think I fought my way out of addiction, rebuilt my life, rediscovered my purpose, and learned what it means to actually live just to become comfortable with barely existing? Absolutely not. I'm not chasing perfection. I'm pursuing everything I once believed was impossible. Peace. Purpose. Love. Family. Success. Growth. And a life that makes every painful lesson worth something. Not because I believe the world owes me anything, but because I finally understand what it costs to throw a life away. I didn't fight this hard for freedom just to live like I'm still imprisoned by my past. I'm grateful for how far I've come, but I'm nowhere near finished becoming who I'm capable of being. And if you think I'm going to apologize for wanting more out of the life I almost lost... You're absolutely crazy. I'm coming for it all. #radicalmovement #painintopurpose
