@nicole_nathern_hedrick: Ever wondered why culture feels so deeply divided? In this video, we break down the sociology behind complex social movements, how decline in civic literacy makes populations vulnerable to oversimplified narratives, and the psychological tactics used to create societal scapegoats. It’s time to move past the emotional noise and look at the facts. #CriticalThinking #Sociology #MediaLiteracy
Nope. Progressives don’t “divide people into groups”. It’s disingenuous to say that when group identifiers are the tools of discrimination that progressives want to eliminate. “The other” is historically how otherwise good moral people have been manipulated into believing that identities based on race, religion or country of origin supersede behavior or character. That othering has been detrimental to ability of millions of people to live freely and take full advantage of the opportunities promised by our constitution. Those opportunities have been limited historically based on said “group identifiers” and not individual skill motivation or just basic rights afforded to anyone by our constitution. Progressives aren’t trying to force everyone into one big beautiful group by elevating anyone based on their history of being oppressed. Progressives want to stop discriminatory practices. There’s no perfect way to do this. People are unique in their cultures, family values, learned experiences and character. To recognize that one or two general identifying characteristics led to generations of oppression is progress. We have to learn to recognize when groups are being othered and recognize it for what it is. Manipulation by people seeking power over us all.

I can tell you what the guy in the video you're responding to is attempting to do. He's attempting to romanticize ADHD or gain sympathy for having ADHD. There's a group of people who belive the ADHD brain is a "superpower" that grants them the "powers" of advanced pattern recognition among other things. They go as far as to say that ADHD brains were beneficial for humans during the hunter/gatherer era, and some people still have that brain and they blame the ADHD "disfunction" on modern society not catering to their hunter/gatherer brain. Then there's the people who use ADHD, imagined or real for attention through sympathy. I loathe most ADHD content on TIKTOK because it's mostly performative or faked based on common misconceptions of ADHD of which there are many. People with ADHD do tend to have a better sense of pattern recognition but it isn't a "superpower" by any means. ADHD is more debilitating than most people realize. Content like that guy produces minimizes the struggles people with ADHD go through and it's an overall bad look.

Is the grouping of people into categories like race the reason they left has become so racist? I swear they think every black person thinks and acts the same and they need to be their savior and voice for them, it’s so weird

Sociology as a field has failed to provide an environment of different opposing thoughts and critical thinking. It indoctrinates a certain set of beliefs as part of an orthodoxy which is usually wrong. That social settings and outcomes should be tied to identity. NO.

Money, Power, Envy, and Greed are always present in the human condition! That is why socialism never survives first contact! People willingly take power but rarely give it up!
