Sad handling. The tail is the extension of the spinal cord…using it as a ‘handle’ is old school and inappropriate. Glad that he drew that leg forward, but whoever is handling him this way needs retraining. DVM here..trained in Canine Rehab.

We had two dachshunds that had back surgery and we swam them once a day either in the pool or the bath tub and they both fully recovered.

My dog got acute caudal myopathy when he was 11. He was paralyzed in his bavk legs and i was told he may never walk again. That summer i rented a pool for him every day and he walks a little funny now but he can run and play and he is now 16!
