For the last 50 years healthcare costs have dramatically risen to be disproportional to how much Americans make every year. If you add up what you pay out-of-pocket what your employer pays, it’s astronomical it’s the largest growth industry in America, and one of the largest costs is the transaction cost. Doctors are telling you they can’t practice medicine and they can’t make a living healthcare workers are stressed. The cost is so high and if the system was so efficient right now where’s all that money going? It’s the transaction cost of payers and the insurance industry and the legal industry. The United States used to be able to be affordable, but our inefficiencies have ruined a country more bankruptcies are happening because of medical costs. Something has to change in the status quo is what Mike Rogers is advocating for.
