Growing up there were fruit and nut trees everywhere. I haven't seen fruit trees in many years. Barely see nut trees. They don't grow like they used to. Even if planted around here they won't last long. I have tried to get cherries and blueberries going and they won't mske it past a couple of years.

A huge proportion of the apples grown in the USA were always for the production of hard cider, which was losing to beer before Prohibition and never resume production on any scale afterwards. That killed most of the market for cider apples, which had always been the majority of those pre-1930 trees.

One of the ways we lost our fruit trees is the fruit and nut trees that used to be in our parks and beside the roadsides in small towns and communities have all been cut down so that the free food we used to get On our public property is all gone. Because you can't get tax money from something that's free🤔 so it's up to us to replant those the towns eliminated back in our own yards

A good tip is be prepared to water for the first 2 years in the summer late July and August not much. Just maybe two or three times spread out over the season
