I did dental for 27 years. management and all. left for 2 years. did accounting, and 911 dispatch. came back with a different mind set. once you experience real emergencies you realize what bs dental is and its easier to handle. nothing is urgent, it all gets done, no real stress. Change your mindset and the job gets easier

Got a job 3 years ago as front desk at dental office and work 4 days a week. By Thursday I am so physically and mentally exhausted and thats just working in front! Boss man is insane, major control issues so that don't help lol

I worked 17 years in dental. 10 as a chairside assistant and 7 as front desk and insurance coordinator. I left 5 years to be a bookkeeper at my daughter’s high school. I make as much as I made working in dental and the benefits are amazing! I only wished I’d have done it sooner!!

what’s burning you out? i still work at a desk but it’s basic customer service & mostly data entry & filing.. rarely have to deal with face to face interactions.

Burn out is so real even though I work four days a week and my pay is decent, but I am so tired of being the bad guy because insurance doesn’t pay and somehow that’s my fault.
