We also didn't get notified immediately. I discovered something was happening by walking out my back door, called 911 she told me there was a chemical spill. I grabbed my family and we drove South.....In a matter of minutes our house was filling up...Once we were driving through the thick of it is when I got a text alert. People got alerts at all different times. Scariest, Craziest thing I've ever seen on my 55 years.

The news also said that people outside of the 3 mile radius of the incident was safe but they obviously wasn't. The (fog) carried it all over the city. I live in East Toledo which is right across the river from where it happened and I woke at 3am smelling it me, my 2 7m old babies, my 2y old and my 10y old were all breathing it in as we slept. My boyfriend was outside in it because he came home on his lunch break to check on us. He's had a horrible cough since then and I have had a sore throat and sinus pain since then. 🤷♀️

My job and my home were both in the Shelter in Place Zone.. I had to drive through the Evacuation Zone to get to work. I called my employer to find out if I would be excused (I didn't want a dink on my attendance) and no one answered. Then at work our factory has a system where it pulls in air from outside with no filtration. And we never heard anything from our union leadership nor HR about the subject at all.. smh.

I live in point place less than a mile away I woke up at 3am to my eyes and throat burning I thought the house was on fire the smell was horrible I tried to look outside and couldn’t see anything the chemical filled the entire area I’m very concerned about the future of my family the city is just blowing it off
