@tonyrich02: A man claims his 15-year friendship ended after attending his best friend's wedding. He says he spent €900 on flights, accommodation, and a suit, plus another €150 as a wedding gift, bringing his total expenses to €1,050. A week after the wedding, the groom allegedly contacted him on WhatsApp asking if he could raise something without causing offense. He then reportedly sent an Excel spreadsheet requesting an additional €15 to fully cover the cost of his meal. The unexpected request reportedly brought their friendship to an end. #viral #Relationship
Idk why people think it’s the guests responsibility to pay for their wedding

the person showing up is what's more important than whatever envelope given. u can have all the money in the world, but try having no one to spend it with.

He’s right—you’re being stingy. If you were a true and close friend, you would have given him a gift worthy of that friendship.

My best friend didn't invite me to be one of her bridesmaids on her wedding day. I know to some ppl this isn't a big deal. I messaged her days before her wedding day, I got no response from her until 3 days AFTER the wedding day. We've known each other since we were 3 and 4. We are 25 and 26 now.

wait... why do you guys invite people to the your wedding and then expect them to cover the cost? here we invite people to wedding and let them eat. if the want to give money packet, its a blessing. we dont go ahead and check who give how much.

Honestly sounds like the new wife of your friend probably had a hand in this. I mean if he wasn’t that stingy before, but is now. Then my best bet would be that she said something and goated him into saying something to you. If that is the case shame on her, AND HIM for saying such things to you. Good grief does that amount of mo why really matter that much? No…no it doesn’t. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that man. 😔

I heard this many times from destination weddings. They don't count the cost to YOU to get there, only the cost to them for YOU being there 😤

so lost my lifelong "friends" over camping. they were camping overnight, I couldnt go because my brother was in the hospital and I was taking care of him. they kept asking if I could even come for a few hours to just hang out with them. my brother insisted I should make an appearance so I went...drove 3 hrs, took snacks and food and spent about 4 hours with them playing at thr beach. night came and they asked me to eat and I said no, I am not part of the group. they insisted so I took a burger and then left. next day they asked me to pay half the costs of camping...

No one ever asks the bride and groom what they spent on their before deciding on their gift. Furthermore, a bride and groom's wedding choices should be about what they want their day to be, not what they can make from it.

been there. normally the wife/girlfriend plays a huge role in this sort of behavior, in 8 month you'll get a message. like "hey"followed by him probably asking for something

should have added $5 to say keep the change. that will be a cheap price to pay for a good insult.

Transactional friendships are the true debt. It can feel sad but nice when they remove themselves.

It seems you both could have handled this much better. I believe the friendship wasn’t that great on anyone side.
