Pavi was shown the chakra system because because she already has been mastering the root chakra . You notice how easier it is for her to meditate because she already master her root chakra by herself all this time being alone .. the root chakra is the element of Earth . And governs survival. Pavi has been surviving on her own and keeping her self grounded by connecting to the earth elements ( her friends ) this is why she was able to break through the illusion of fear cause she has faced her fear . Unlike nisha , it’s funny tho because when a person root chakra is blocked issues show up in their lower body aka pavi’s leg . Pavi whole journey so far has been her mastering the root chakra . The avatar is being forced to go through the cycle to reconnect to its past self .

I think the Anomaly is Vatu released into the world after Korra had destroyed it because Vatu took control of her, and now that’s why there’s two avatars because one is Vatu and one is Rava. And since Vatu has been released into the world I believe he left something in the world since he is an avatar now because he craves mass destruction.

I think its corrupted spirit energy and it's trying to get pavi and nisha to help it get rid of the corruption. I think the humans of the old world were using spirit energy to power their tech and, just like nuclear energy creates toxic waste, spirit energy becomes corrupted and volatile. but because it is concious energy, it is aware that it is corrupted, or it is in some kind of pain, and it wants pavi and nisha to see the truth about how it was created so that they can reverse it.

Theory, I don’t think Raava and Vaatu theoretically exist anymore. I think Korra harnessed them both to stop a genuine world ending event and in result scattered their essence across the world. The Anomaly I feel is the essence of Vaatu trying to reconnect the avatar and guide them to Raava, who is also fragmented. Think about how much they can barely connect to Korra’s memories, except when connected to The Anomaly. Pavi and Nisha need to reconnect both halves of the spiritual relationship to put the world back into balance, which is also why the world is split into the seven chakras.

Im going with that theory of the planet itself being some form of living entity/spirit and its chakras are out of balance. The entity is the Earths root chakra and is blocked by the collective fear of the people that inhabit the world . The reason why that entity always seems to "hunt"down the avatars is bcz its the world trying to get the avatar to unlock the blocked chakra.

I think it’s like a corruption thing. The anomaly is corrupted and is doing bad things as a result but it wants to be freed and unblocked. I think heightened fear is what summons it and it makes the fear worse.

The anomaly feels artificial to me. And after the flashback of Korra I feel like it's a sort of waste product of processing spirit energy. Maybe it acts as some kind of autonomic response of the world trying to heal itself.
