How do teachers/staff and the nurses not know how to do the Heimlich maneuver effectively on students or have a LifeVac for that matter and know how to use it. What a disgrace. A child should not loose their life at school in general and especially not from the carelessness and inefficiency from teachers/staff.

What if she experienced an allergic reaction that resulted in anaphylaxis? That condition causes the airway to constrict, which can mimic the signs of choking even when it is not, and perhaps that is why the Heimlich maneuver was ineffective.
