#MediaSelangor #SultanSelangor #JubliPerak #Perpaduan

Replying to @sproutspout Logical consequences work because they teach instead of punish. When a consequence is directly tied to the behavior, kids can actually connect the dots. Crayons on the wall? We clean it together. Throwing blocks? The blocks take a break. Hitting at the playground? We leave the playground. The lesson is built right into what happens next. That connection is what makes them so effective, especially for toddlers and preschoolers. Little brains learn through immediate, concrete cause and effect. That connection is what makes them so effective, especially for toddlers and preschoolers. Little brains learn through immediate, concrete cause and effect. A consequence that makes sense to them gets remembered. A random one ("no TV tonight" for not sharing) just feels unfair and teaches them to avoid getting caught. The secret is the 3 R's: related, respectful, and reasonable. Say it calmly, follow through every time, then reconnect so they know the relationship is still safe. That's how the behavior actually changes. (Side note: these aren't the same as natural consequences. Those just happen on their own, like feeling cold when you skip your coat. Logical consequences are the ones you step in and set, which matters when the natural one would be unsafe or too far off for a toddler to understand.) 💛 Make sure to follow me @kendraworth for all things REAL gentle parenting & no-tears sleep training.
