@latest.new11: Joe Keery Credits Sadie Sink With Urging Him to Make His Broadway Debut in Other Desert Cities Joe Keery is making his Broadway debut. And he says a former Stranger Things costar helped push him there. The actor, 34, stars in the revival of Other Desert Cities. He told PEOPLE at opening night on Sunday, October 18, that Sadie Sink gave him advice about theater. “She had some good words of advice and really kind of urged me to do it,” Keery said. “She thought I would have a nice time.” Sink, 24, knows the stage well. She made her Broadway debut as a child in Annie. She later earned a Tony nomination for John Proctor Is the Villain. This spring, she starred in Romeo & Juliet in London’s West End. Keery said he saw her in London before that show opened. He is also texting another Stranger Things alum. “I’ve been texting Gaten as Rent has opened,” Keery said. “He’s killing it over there.” In the play, Keery plays Trip Wyeth, the youngest son of a politically connected family. It also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Allison Janney, Ed Harris, and Lily Rabe. It runs through January 17, 2027. Will a musical come next? “I don’t have any plans at the moment, but never say never,” he said. Would you see Joe Keery on Broadway? #JoeKeery #SadieSink #desert #Broadway #strangerthings
