Uncle suffers from complications of diabetes, leaving him with blurry vision in both eyes. He can only see about one meter ahead. He also suffered a mild stroke, leaving both legs weak and making it difficult for him to walk. Despite his health, Uncle continues working from 2 PM until 10 AM the following morning just to survive. Uncle shared that after he became sick, his wife and children left him, and he’s been struggling on his own ever since. He pays 2 million VND a month for a small rented room, which he mainly uses to store his belongings and sleep during the day. At night, he’s back outside working. When it rains, he has no shelter, so he puts on his raincoat and continues sitting outside, sometimes even sleeping in the rain. A few months ago, Uncle went to the hospital for treatment but was asked to pay a 3 million VND deposit before being admitted. Unfortunately, he couldn’t afford it and had no choice but to go home.
