The way they handle pain management in hospitals is really backwards. I was in the ER with the worst case of tonsillitis the hospital had ever seen, I couldn't even swallow my own saliva or speak, but they gave me torodol every single time first, made me sit for 2 hours, then gave me dilaudid... if I'm telling you it's 10/10 pain with my HANDS because I can't even talk, why are you not just giving me dilaudid around the clock?? I think I proved I'm in sufficient enough pain to not need a fucking torodol trial 'because that's hospital policy'??

Toradol is not an narcotic so they can absolutely give it to you. They are suppose to alternate to get your paun under control.

I guess nobody in the comments is listening! If it’s not on the MAR, they cannot give it! A doctor can say whatever he wants! Unless the order was made and placed on the MAR, the nurses can’t do anything!
