Meet the Dominican Seafood Queen of the Bronx 🦀👑 We’re on the hunt for the best (and most affordable) seafood boils in New York City, and our search brought us to @ariesfishmarket in the Bronx. Aries is the brainchild of @gissydr, who grew up in the neighborhood and went to school around the corner. Giselle’s family is from the Dominican Republic and she describes her seafood boil as “Caribbean-style,” using the ingredients and seasonings of the DR to pack her food with extra flavor. Aries is set up in a really unique way. You buy your seafood by the pound, like you would at any other market. But then you can season everything yourself, and Giselle and her staff will steam it for you for $2 or fry it for you for $3. Giselle opened Aries after her mom passed away. She sees the restaurant as a way to honor her mom’s memory by providing her community with healthy and affordable cooking.
