Major evidence syntheses have not established that depression is caused by low serotonin, and large genetic studies have not supported the proposed causal model. The continued use of SSRIs cannot, by itself, validate that theory: a drug can influence a biological system without correcting the original cause of a disorder.

@matiullah286: The other SSRI or SNRI are works in those specific depression or anxiety condition in which uptake of neurotransmitters ( dopamine,serotonin etc) from neurons to synapse in that way work. But the GEPIRONE used by those patients which have normally low levels neurotransmitter(dopamine,serotonin etc) produce inside neurons that medication mimics the action of these neurotransmitters.
