PS Based on the dress in Atonement I think your dress is probably best described as a bias cut slip dress. In my experience bias cut dresses and skirts sort of hug my hips and sail around my legs in a way that is kinda sexy,but it’s not considered revealing. I think that probably people have rarely,or never seen you all dolled up. And thus your dress and appearance made a big impression on the other wedding guests, and maybe this particular bride is a little insecure. But it doesn’t sound like you did anything wrong! Your dress was appropriate,and you can’t be faulted for looking amazing!

Bride was jealius. She wasn't used to seeing you this way and hated that not only are you tall you look great dressed up. Also seeing as you yourself felt great you probably exudes that with confidence. As a 5ft 11 and at the time blonde woman anytime I dressed up I got dirty looks from other woman complete strangers in fact. My husband always laughed so hard cuz he was usually with me and these women were still feeling threatened. I just ignored it.😁

this is a rabbit trail but I was once let go from a job (teller at a bank) because I "dressed too nice". the manager complained that I would wear heels or flats when everyone wore tennis shoes (on a Saturday,). he said since I was in my 90 day probation, he didn't have to provide a reason but that was the reason he gave me.
