@auntymay.sg: HDB party with loud speaker Singapore: can or cannot? Party at the void deck CAN – but a loud speaker or PA system needs Town Council permission first. Break the by-law, you can kena fined up to $5,000 on conviction. Since 1 June 2026, every Town Council has the same model by-laws. By-law 7 says you need Town Council permission to use any amplification or PA system on common property, or to hold an event that blocks the space or takes over part of it. "Event" includes a birthday celebration, a wedding and a funeral. Neighbour's birthday party downstairs, speaker blasting – you join or complain? Neighbour's party too loud? Talk nicely first; still cannot settle, try the Community Mediation Centre. #HDB #voiddeck #towncouncil #sgnews #Singapore
