My mtg is 2.75% and my investments are about 8%. While I have plenty of money to pay off my mtg , my investments are making 100k a yr. Why would I take that out to pay a mtg that is so low, doesn’t make financial sense when u do the numbers

I bought a duplex to rent out the other side... so many people "could never be a landlord" but it's single handedly the best financial decision I've ever made

My hubby and I lived off one salary for 25 years and banked/invested the other salary. No kids also helped. We retired last year at 53

I cashed in my retirement at 28 to go back to school for engineering. I doubled my income the first year out and have since quadrupled my pre-degree income.

We sold our gorgeous home in Florida, bought an old run down house in Alabama, paid cash, took the rest of the money from selling the Florida home to do renovations. We still owed $200k on the home in Florida when we sold it. Two and a half years later our Alabama home is renovated and we are debt free.

Paid off an 8k student loan and i’m still in the grace period…. im 23 and I still have 20k total to go, People think I should splurge more or get a more expensive car since I do make more money now… but debt free at 24 sounds better to me. Sorry🤣

Sold our cars and took our equity to buy nice older cars with lower mileage. No car payments, reliable nice cars, and less miles!

I paid off my house early but now I regret it. It was 3%. I could have been earning 10 to 15% or more on that money.

We got approved for a 245K mortgage and bought a barely 800sqft cabin for 99K. We absolutely had to get out of our rental and discovered we really needed 300K or so to get what we really wanted. So we went cheap cheap. Now the mortgage is less than half what our rent was and we’re building equity by doing small cosmetic Reno’s on our own.

Got divorced after 12 years of marriage and I was a stay at home mom. I left the house and I got a tiny apartment with me and the kids started working full-time for the first time ever in my life at 30 years old. Everyone said “why are you giving all of this up” because my peace was worth more than all of those things

Bought our first house later in life due to unforeseen circumstances. We lived in it for 3 years and sold it to move to our dream house 2 houses down. The only debt we have is our mortgage. We always paid cash for something or we don’t get it. My hubs wanted a brand new vehicle for his work truck so we saved and paid cash and at 57 he finally got his first new vehicle.

we got approved for 750k mortgage. we bought a house for 175k. id rather invest than own a big expensive house. everyone assumes we're poor because we're in a very modest home.

when we paid off our cars (and then didn't buy a new one until we had to)! before kids, I picked up a holiday retail job so that money could go toward the car debt. people also thought we were crazy for saving/investing 20-40% of our income every month 🤷🏼‍♀️I'm frugal for a reason people! 🤣
