"maybe start with a hug. or a kiss on the cheek. i'm a very affectionate person, you know." your stomach did an embarrassing little flip. you hated him. you hated how he could say the most ridiculous things with a perfectly straight face, then look at you as if he expected you to fall for every word. the problem was that sometimes, you almost did. "whatever. let's go." you turned around and started walking before he could see the smile threatening to appear on your face. evan followed, looking entirely too pleased with himself. "you know, baby, you could at least pretend you're happy to see me." "i was having a perfectly nice conversation before you showed up." "and now you're having a conversation with me. you're welcome."
