I don’t care whether or not rudeus is a good person or if the characters are flawed, I think the story, plot and world building are incredibly captivating and I want to watch it for that reason

yeah that was kind of a reductive and shallow comment. Well sex and sexuality are significant parts of Rudeus personality and growth. But it's not that sex makes him automatically from a bad person to a better person, it's that at the start, aside from his damaged psyche, he had this warped view on sex and sexuality due to sexual trauma and 20 years of purely consuming porn and eroge visual novels for escapism. And the story is about overcoming his past trauma and coming to a more healthy understanding of his sexuality and what sex means to him. And there are also other things that MT is about, cause a story can be about more than one thing, like redemption and second chances. But that's a story for another time.
