@grandementor: The Heron Hag The Heron Hag (other names include The Grey Bird and the Matron of Carrion) is a druid priestess that leads a cult of mad, cannibalistic avian necromancers that often flock to battlefields in the aftermath of wars and skirmishes. They are known to worship Tharizdun, an ancient, primal entity of chaos. Few to none know of her origins, except that she and her mad flock have appeared in battlefields for centuries. They never harm the living, but are fiercely protective of the dead that they get their talons on, which led to the need to quickly bury the dead after battles. The cult, known as the Mourning Grey, can sense the dead from miles away by way of birds that inform them. They appear in large, scattered groups, surrounding dead, war-torn bodies to be torn apart for their flesh and bones. Some are eaten, while most are taken away. The Heron Hag is mostly human-looking except for her twisted, almost reptilian-looking feet. She has medium length white hair with black sideburns like a heron’s, and drapes herself in a shawl that looks like a heron’s wings. She wears bird bones as necklaces and has a particular fondness for ducks, as a skull of one hangs from her necklace.
