they are also exploiting African workers to improve ai safety filters! previously in Kenya they had the workers watching horrific graphic content and paying them scraps. Many of them were offing themselves because of how grotesque the content was!!! They would never dare pay a western worker 2 dollars for that type of labor

What about the fact that the youth can now connect to cutting edge research at a fraction of the cost rendering them up to date and as competitive as their peers in science, medicine, agriculture, energy, policy, law, etc? AI usage is the least of Africa's problems. Our stalled foreign input dependent development is. We need AI more than any other continent.

Thank you so much for this!!! I think sometimes people tend to give communities of color and immigrants passes when it comes to AI usage (I see it a lot when immigrant owned businesses use AI flyers and menus), but the effects are going to affect these communities first before anyone else 😭 EVERYONE needs to be held accountable!
