I was once speaking to an American girl, she asked me where from Germany I’m from. I said Regensburg, then she was like “Oh really, I know that city!!! I went to university there!!” And I was obvi so surprised, cause what a coincidence… (in our small city?). Then she showed me a picture of Innsbruck. It’s not even Germany… 🫪

I went to Rome in September, got in a guided tour for the colosseum and the guide asked us where we were all from since we were like 5 groups of ppl. "Canada", "Australia", "Mexico" some of us said, then it came to the Americans who said they were from Texas and New York. like they have their american-ness so ingrained in them that they default to telling you what state they come from

I remember being in Japan and there's a little show at the museum and the Japanese host is asking everyone where they're from and everyone's obviously answering their home country and of course the guy from US said Miami.
