@otheret: Scientists at Kyoto University in Japan found that dogs can tell when a person isn't trustworthy. In the experiment, 34 dogs watched a researcher point to a container with hidden food, and the dogs happily ran to check it out. Then the same researcher pointed to an empty container. When that person pointed to food again, far fewer dogs followed the gesture. But when a new researcher did the pointing, the dogs trusted them right away. Dogs clearly remember who lied to them.
