@kidgitalnomads: Living full-time in an RV sounds like a dream… until you actually do it. 😂 We’ve been living this crazy, unconventional life for over 4 years now, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that this lifestyle is absolutely NOT all sunshine, palm trees, and beautiful campsites. There are breakdowns, expensive repairs, and lots of unexpected expenses. There are things that stop working at the absolute WORST possible time. There are plans that get completely derailed and days when we’re frustrated, overwhelmed, and questioning what in the world we were thinking when we decided to sell the traditional lifestyle and move our family into 45 feet of living space. And don’t even get me started on trying to homeschool two kids, run businesses, maintain some sense of normalcy, and keep everyone from driving each other completely insane while living in this tiny space. 🤣 But here’s the thing… We had problems when we lived in a house, too. Houses need repairs, appliances break, and unexpected expenses happen there too. Life gets stressful, kids fight, and work gets overwhelming. Sometimes you spend a whole lot of money fixing something you didn’t even know was broken yesterday. But none of those things magically disappear just because you have a permanent address. The difference is what we get in return. We’ve watched our kids experience places that most people only get to visit on vacation. We’ve explored parts of this country we might never have seen otherwise. We’ve made friendships with people from all over the country, created memories in places we never imagined calling home, and learned that sometimes the best experiences happen when absolutely nothing goes according to plan. Our kids are growing up understanding that there’s more than one way to live a successful, happy life and that home doesn’t necessarily have to be a typical house. They’ve learned that experiences can be worth more than things and that sometimes taking the road less traveled is exactly where you’re supposed to be. And we’ve learned a few things about ourselves along the way, too. We’ve learned to be more flexible and to appreciate the little things and to laugh when things go wrong. We recognize that having the freedom to live life on our own terms is something we shouldn’t take for granted. Are there days when we miss having more space? Absolutely. Are there times when we’d love to have a regular laundry room, a big kitchen, or a bathroom where I can turn around without bumping into something? Yep! Have we spent money on RV repairs that we would have much rather spent on something fun? More times than we care to count. But would we trade all the experiences we’ve had over the last 4 years just to avoid those inconveniences? Not a chance. Because the truth is, no matter what kind of life you choose, there’s going to be a downside. There’s going to be stress, frustration, unexpected expenses, and days that just plain suck. The goal isn’t to find a life without problems. It’s to build a life where the good things make those problems worth dealing with. And for us, the good things have FAR outweighed the bad. So for now, this is our home, this is our adventure, and this is the life we’ve chosen, with all its imperfections, challenges, beautiful places, incredible people, and “what the heck were we thinking” moments. If there’s one thing I hope our kids take away from all of this, it’s that you don’t have to live the way everyone expects you to. You just have to figure out what makes your life feel full. The pros don’t just outweigh the cons. They’re the reason we keep choosing this life, over and over again. #FullTimeRVLiving #RVLife #FamilyTravel #LifeOnTheRoad Resort at the end of the video: @Camp Margaritaville Auburndale
