@earthsignalofficial: October 24, 2026 | Four Corners, New Mexico Record flooding is sweeping northwest New Mexico. The San Juan River at Farmington rose above 14 feet, surpassing the 12.3-foot record set in 1909, and the National Weather Service says flooding of this extent has not been seen since before Navajo Dam was completed in 1962. San Juan County estimates about 1,500 residences have been evacuated, and crews have carried out around 60 rescues, including helicopter and boat evacuations. No deaths were reported as of Friday, but officials say the focus has been on getting people out. Bloomfield's water treatment plant shut down and floodwater is contaminated. San Juan County and the Navajo Nation have declared emergencies, and the river was forecast to reach major flood stage at Shiprock on Saturday. #NewMexico #Flooding #SanJuanRiver #FourCorners #EarthSignal
