@thecat.reporster: Stephanie March Is Set to Return as ADA Alexandra Cabot on SVU, Eight Years After Her Last Appearance Stephanie March is stepping back into one of SVU’s best-known roles. She will return as Alexandra Cabot in the ninth episode of Law & Order: SVU season 28. No release date has been announced. March first joined the show in 2000, in season 2. She teamed up with Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay. The two made a popular duo for three seasons. Cabot’s first exit came early in season 5. In the story, she faked her death and went into Witness Protection after she tried to convict a gang member of r*pe. Her life was threatened, and she stepped away from her job. March came back in season 10 and stayed for two seasons. Cabot then moved on to work for the International Criminal Court. March returned for guest spots in seasons 13 and 19. The season 19 episode aired in 2018 and revealed that Cabot had retired as an attorney. In all, March appeared in 97 episodes. That makes her the third-longest-running ADA on the show. Her return comes ahead of SVU’s 600th episode, set to air Nov. 12 as the sixth episode of season 28. In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE, March said she would be happy to return. “I wouldn’t say no to the opportunity and cash prizes!” she joked. New episodes air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
