@earthsignalofficial: October 24, 2026 | Eastern Pacific, off Southwest Mexico Hurricane Vance has become a major hurricane. After strengthening from 50 mph to 105 mph in about 30 hours, it reached Category 3 strength with winds of at least 111 mph on Friday, according to AccuWeather and National Hurricane Center forecasts. It remains well offshore, about 425 miles south-southwest of Acapulco on Friday afternoon, drifting northwest at roughly 5 mph, and no coastal watches or warnings were in effect. The NHC expects Vance to begin weakening Saturday night, but its swells are forecast to bring life-threatening surf and rip currents to southern and southwestern Mexico this weekend and into next week. Mexico's weather service forecasts waves of 2 to 3 meters on the Guerrero coast and heavy rain in coastal Guerrero and Michoacán.
