@toyosegui: Elvis Presley made history on March 1, 1970, by becoming the first artist to receive five gold records in a single year. The historic award ceremony took place during a press conference at the Astroworld Hotel in Houston, Texas, just after the King of Rock and Roll finished a series of six consecutive sold-out concerts before more than 200,000 people at the legendary Houston Astrodome. Rocco Loginestra, then vice president of RCA Records, took to the stage to surprise Elvis with a stack of certifications for his successful 1969 releases. The five honorees were: • "Suspicious Minds" (Single) • "Don't Cry Daddy" (Single) • "In the Ghetto" (Single) • "From Elvis in Memphis" (Studio Album) • "From Memphis to Vegas / From Vegas to Memphis" (Double Album, also known as Elvis at the International) This enormous commercial achievement solidified Elvis's spectacular return to the stage after years dedicated exclusively to film, powerfully marking the beginning of his legendary concert era of the 1970s

The King Elvis Presley 🤩😍🕺

Rashid :

No, the statement in the image is not accurate. Here is the context behind Elvis Presley and his gold records: Official RIAA Gold Records: The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) officially introduced the standard Gold Record award in 1958 (the first official RIAA gold single awarded was Perry Como's "Catch a Falling Star"). Elvis's 1956 Breakthrough: While Elvis had a historic chart run in 1956 with massive single sales (such as "Heartbreak Hotel", "Hound Dog", "Don't Be Cruel", and "Love Me Tender"), these sales predated the RIAA's official certification system. The First 5 Gold Records in a Single Year: The record for being the first artist to officially receive 5 (or more) RIAA Gold Record certifications within a single calendar year belongs to The Beatles in 1964, following their breakthrough in North America.
