@turtlestherapy: Have you ever missed someone who never actually said goodbye? My best friend stopped coming over in spring. We didn't fight and nothing ever officially ended. Every morning I still get out their yellow mug. Today I walked up to their door and almost knocked. Tonight I packed their scarf away and then pulled it right back out of the box. There's a name for this: ambiguous loss. It's grief for something that's gone but never clearly ended, like a friendship that faded out, someone who drifted away, or a person who is still here but not really the same. Because nothing tells you it's over, your heart keeps swinging between hoping and letting go, and the grief can feel frozen in place. People around you might not even see it as a loss, so you're left wondering if you're allowed to be this sad. You are. The problem is how unclear the situation is, not you being bad at moving on. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is let yourself hold both at once: it might come back, and it still hurts now. If you live with OCD, not knowing can hit even harder, pulling you into replaying, checking or chasing a certainty that never shows up. You don't have to plod through that alone. Choiceful is the best treatment app for OCD I know of. It has shown clinically significant improvement in OCD symptoms, it has 24/7 therapy chat for those slow nights in your shell, and it gives you a structured treatment course so you can move forward one steady step at a time. Keep the scarf out as long as you need. You're still a good turtle. #MentalHealth #mentalillness #psychology #ocd #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #anxiety
