I know a family of 6 grown daughters. The grandfather, they never met, was abusive. The father treated their mother like a queen. Every single daughter got into an abusive relationship. I do not understand how that happened.

I married a man very similar to my father. It didn’t end well on both counts as my Father chose my ex’s side because if he had chosen mine it would have exposed his behaviour too.

this is what happened to my mom. but he was abusive before he became wheelchair bound. she was paid to be his caregiver and it took her 10 years to get out.

At this point in my life, I do not care that my mom was abused. She still abused me and made excuses for why my dad abused me, married another abusive man… I don’t care that she was abused anymore.

My mom's first marriage was also abusive and they had a kid (my half sibling) together. Mom will never say anything bad about my siblings' dad to them, but she did tell me a few basic details. It was mostly emotional and financial abuse.

The statistics on disabled people being abusive is very sad. They feel powerless so they take it out on the ones who are taking care of them.
