Hels 🇬🇧🇫🇷🇮🇹 :
I think that’s a bit of a leap, the official government advice here in the UK doesn’t say it’s specifically because of possible Russian attacks at all 🙄 The government says the three day supplies are for emergencies that might disrupt everyday services, severe weather knocking out power, water or internet, for example. It says being prepared can help emergency services focus on people who need urgent help. The UK has been experiencing extremes in weather conditions.

If you have ever lived in the UK during an El Niño weather event you’ll understand why they’re saying this. I’m not saying Russia isn’t an issue but I’m more concerned about the weather than Russia at this current time.

At no point did they explicitly mention Russia as the reasoning behind the campaign. They've done these campaigns before but the timing of this one does carry the implication

Not once did they mention Russia. Its because of the storms and expected bad weather we are facing over the winter months in the UK

No not at all, it’s about allowing for any power supply problems, nothing to do with Russia

its not about Russia, although that is a background concern, its basic preparation. Do you have supplies for 24 hours without power due to winter storm? If you live near water, what about a flood? Cyber attacks are on the rise, do yoj have the casb to manage a few days without a card or phone?
simple basic things.

You should always have three days worth of supplies period. That gives the government time to deal with an emergency without having to worry about people who were capable of taking care of themselves.

lol they’re not mentioning Russia! We’re being told it’s in case of severe weather (we can get flash flooding etc) and a sensible precaution. There’s also a theory - the UK were planning a no-shopping day at the end of October in protest at the cost of living, and this encouragement to ‘stock up’ would mitigate the impact on retail. Most of the uk are smirking at the advice to be honest, while chucking an extra tin of beans in our basket.
